Having grown up in Florida and spent more than my fair share of time in the roller rink, I can testify that it's a hotbed of unwashed adolescent hormones mixed with Marlboro Reds and a surprising amount of Peppermint Schnapps, although Boone's Farm may be substituted if schnapps are not on hand.

Bill Yates spent several months taking pictures at Sweetheart Roller Skating Rink in Tampa, Fla
(creeper alert!) back in 1972.  He put the pictures away and only recently unleashed them on an unsuspecting public.
