I'm listening to Band of Horses - Acoustic at The Ryman - right now.

"Neighbors", sparsley played with fantastic harmonies is kinda blowing my mind.

"Neighbor"

The wind blew a path through the fallen leaves
And there showed a crack in the old oak tree
The door stood as if it was standing guard
Of the dozen chipmunks in the backyard

Every house not a home but dare do I roam
There's a light on the porch here for someone

Once upon a time in a border town
The war was over, the guns laid down
The women, the men, the children saved
Now it's hard to remember it any other way

When the law acts as though there is nothing to show
There is compassion and depth in a neighbor

Now if Bartles & Jaymes didn't need no first names
We could live by our own laws in favor

Every house not a home but dare do I roam
There's a light on the porch here for someone

Now if Bartles & Jaymes didn't need no first names
We could live by our own laws in favor

The is B of H playing Grand Central in NYC.

I didn't really connect with this song until I heard the acoustic version here, where you can you really hear and feel the lines,

"Got lost in the places I've been.  I should go out with my friends.  I'd go tonight but I know you'll be there too, there too."

Good stuff.

"Evening Kitchen"

(oooo oooo oooo)

Drive out with the sun in your eyes
You wasted my time
It's true, it's true

My god, don't you hold out your hand
I called off my plans
I counted on you, on you

And if you're ever left with any doubt
What you live with and what you'll do without
I'm only sorry that it took so long to figure out

(oooo oooo oooo)

Got lost in the places I've been
I should go out with my friends
I'd go tonight but I know you'll be there too, there too

For me, this bottle of wine
Is to slow down my mind
And forget the things that I knew, I knew

And if you're ever left with any doubt
What you live with and what you'll do without
I'm only sorry that it took so long to figure out

(oooo oooo oooo)

Just one more:

Band of Horses - Laredo

Gonna take a trip to Laredo
Gonna take a dip in the lake
Oh, I'm at a crossroads with myself
I don't got no one else

Possibilities at the door
I won't be needing them anymore
Oh, is this the first time in your life
It's hard just to get by?

But oh my love, don't you even know?
And oh my love, are you really gone?

Can you see the world through a window?
Are you having troubles in droves?
Oh, it ain't the worst thing I could do
Is get back home to you.

I put a bullet in my Kia Lorenzo
A kitchen knife up to my face
Throw me in the deep of Jammer Lake
Believe me when I say

That oh my love, you don't even call
And oh my love, is that you on the phone?

And oh my love, you don't even know
And oh my love, are you really gone?
