I'm not sure why but, there was a point in American history at which, being a long haul trucker was just about the coolest thing you could do with your life.
In the mid '70's there were songs and movies and TV shows all based around an 18 wheeler and some handsome, young, go-getter (and possibly his monkey) who was draggin' a very important cargo that absolutely, positively HAD to be there by a certain time or else.
It was a simpler time and, dare I say, a better world back then.
