The Bitter Southerner

Tell about the South. What's it like there. What do they do there. Why do they live there. Why do they live at all.”

WILLIAM FAULKNER / ABSALOM, ABSALOM!

Recently I posted an article about a new photo book about The Clermont Lounge, my favorite bar and an Atlanta institution, and linked the newish website, The Bitter Southerner.
Begat by folks who had heard one too many comments about how backwards all of us who grew up in the south are, their stated goal is, "One Great Story from The South a Week".
They exceed their goal by a mile with this story of John Dee Graham, a musician from Austin, TX.

Go read.
To be honest, it might take a minute for his music to sink in to my thick head (a bit Leonard Cohen for my tastes) but the story is fantastic.
