“I was sentenced to death, not psychological torment.”
This, by the man responsible for the rape and murder of a Connecticut woman and her two daughters, age 11 and 17. The father, who was merely beaten unconscious with a baseball bat, managed to survive.
And this is why I am now and forever more, unapologetically "right wing".
Only in a society brimming with hippie do gooders, who care only about good vibes would anyone give a rat's ass about a convicted murderer's internal process.
This man and his partner in crime broke into a family's home.
Beat the father.
Raped the mother and one of the little girls.
And then set them on fire.
And then he has the nerve to say in an interview that he was nice to his victims.
I swear to you that I didn't make that up.
He was nice to them the entire time.
Except during that moment that he poured gasoline on them and lit them on fire.
And maybe the rape.
And the strangulation.
Probably hitting a guy with a baseball bat, too.
But outside of that he was nice.
Only in a society that is more concerned about feelings than behaviours would this exist.
We as a nation have "jumped the shark.
Imagine this sick S.O.B. had uttered these words to your grandfather's generation somewhere around 1944.
After raping and murdering a woman and her 2 girls a man insists that he was nice to them.
Seriously.
Imagine your grandfathers standing around a grill, having a beer, and this guy utters these words.
What do you think they would've done?
How much longer do you think this sick thug would've been drawing air?

Instead of that, this guy sits on Death Row, where he will no doubt continue to sit for years as a burden to the taxpayers and as a reminder to all of us that we have become such fucking sissies and cowards that we no longer have the fortitude to protect even our women.
I know how paternalistic that sounds and I'm sure that Gloria Steinem's pleated "skorts" just got all bunched up but how the fuck can we look at ourselves as actual God Damned Men when 3 completely innocent females are murdered and the murderer is still alive 7 years later complaining about how rough prison life is and how he isn't being treated for his anxiety disorder.
Know who else is being treated for anxiety?
11 year old Michaela Petit.
Cause she's dead.
She was raped and then lit on fire.
And the killer has the unmitigated fucking gall to complain about his unsatisfactory life in prison and we as a society stand here looking at our feet, shuffling around, mumbling to ourselves like sissies having sand kicked in our faces doing absolutely fucking nothing.
Maybe we don't deserve to go on (I mean that philosophically and as a country).
Really think about.
Every mammal on the planet has the same response when you get too close to it's cubs - it will eat your face off.
It doesn't stand there conflicted about it, wringing it's hands, it just eats you.

You threatened my babies now you are kaput.
But, in this world that we've crafted for ourselves that response would would get the momma bear thrown in jail and the keep the aggressor walking free.
