My Sunday feel good story.
A great story about some chimpanzees getting their first taste of outdoors since they were captured in the wild and then used for research for years and years. Some of these animals spent 20 or more years in tiny cages before they ever saw grass again.
It's hard to look at their faces and not see sentient beings, capable of thoughts and feelings and pain, and know their history and not feel remorse for what they lost, but also happiness for what they now have.
Having had a fair amount of medical drama in my life, I know that it's very possible that, on some level, at some stage of my treatment, I have personally benefitted from animal testing. It's hard to feel good about that. And yet, this is my Sunday feel good story.
Sorry, I had lot more thoughts and emotions about this than I thought when I started.

Key and Peele
Key and Peele is a new(er) comedy sketch show that I just caught late Friday night.
Hilarious.
This sketch about the guy who had to follow Martin Luther King's "I have a dream speech" is a riot.

It's ok for an amatuer

awww....what a bummer
It is with extreme regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2012 Railroad Revival Tour. The decision to do so was a difficult one, but it was determined that certain complications would not permit us to host the shows in the manner intended, and that the bands and fans deserved.
Railroad Revival Tour will be giving ticket holders a full refund. These will be processed by October 21, 2012. Please be patient while these refunds are processed and give them time to appear on your credit card statement.
We hope fans will take the opportunity to see these acts in other venues. Thank you.

From sick bed to green room
Mikey is feeling much better today - thanks to everyone who wrote in to check on him.
I just got off the phone with Mikey's official Hollywood representative and will be taking him to an "undisclosed location" for his starring role in The Hunger Games Part II, which is filming here in Atlanta.
The rest of the afternoon will be taken up by appointments with hair and make up and of course wardrobe and Mikey hasn't even gotten the script yet - Jeez! Think of the pressure!?!

"Now, I see on page 24 that I'm barking at this young lady.
What is my "motivation" for this barking?
I mean, am I angry for some reason or just hurt and disappointed?
Do I have a history with this woman?
Did she shoot my paw?
Ha !
Just a little actor dog comedy there!
But, seriously...... I just want to understand what you mean when you say "Bad Dog" (?)
Are we talking just a little grumpy or from the wrong side of the tracks type bad dog here?
Or, should this dog be more "Manson Family Dog" bad dog?
I can go all "Cujo" if that's what you want, I just want to "be" this bad dog and really get inside his head.
Can someone get me a grande double caramel machioto latte - light on the whip, please?
Where's Kraft Services anyhow?
Speaking of "Cujo"....the rottie that played him? Total queen. Yeah, I know. Exactly like Rock Hudson."

On the Road
This was a really influential book for me as young, contrary Pirata.
The idea of rolling out across the country for weeks at time, having a wild adventure, and then writing about it sounded fairly appealing to me, then and now.
I should give that a try sometime

"the amazing" called this morning with an odd request.
As part of the new Homeland Security Ultra Secure Triple Star Program,
- motto - "we really do check to see who the heck is in the country now"
in order to get a drivers license in the state of Georgia, you must now provide:
A. Birth certificate
B. Social Security card
C. Passport
D. 2 proofs of current legal address
E. a note from your mother
F. a letter of introduction and/or reference from your minister, priest, or 4th grade English teacher
G. something borrowed, something blue
H. a letter from your employer, stating that you are, in fact, employed
I was asked to help out with "H", and was more than happy to oblige.

To Whom it may concern,
This is to confirm that "the amazing" does in fact remain employed with Metro Georgia Window Films, Inc. where he has been a valued and trusted employee and handsome-young-go-getter for the past 10 years (or thereabouts).
If you have additional questions about the veracity of his employment and/or his handsome-young go-getter-ish-ness, feel free to call me at any time to discuss ad naseum.
That is all,
Toodles,

Waiting for my invitations.........
Since yesterday was International Translation Day, I posted, in Russian, an invitation for my Comrades in Russia to invite me to visit them.
Seems like a good plan.
I will write stuff on a
A. Room and board
B. Guinness
C. Tour guides
What's not to love about this plan!?!
I promise to be wildly entertaining the entire time I'm staying with you!
You'll get the joy and frivolity that is El Pinche Pirata del Fuego right there in the comfort of your own Chataeu or 5 star hotel.
What could possibly be better than that?
It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Me.
