After cleaning up at Hotel Galilei in Pisa, Italy, I found a kind concierge lady who took pity on me and let me borrow a European charger so that I could plug in my cel phone and contact my peeps to let them know that I had arrived, tired but unhurt.

At 10:30 hunger overtook me, so I hopped a cab to a restaurant near The Leaning Tower.
Great food always revives.  I had a fantastic bruschetta and a tagliatti with rosemary and sea salt - delicious!  A couple of Moretti's washed it down nicely.

I woke up at an un-Godly hour - 3:30 AM, showered, packed my bag and was out of the hotel before 6 AM.  The cabbie was happy to stop for kaffe (kaffe Americano for me) and then off to the tower for 5 minutes of predawn picture taking in the rain.
I felt kinda goofy walking around in the dark snapping pictures until I realized that I had the place entirely to myself - only me and the cab driver.
Very nice.

Pictures of the restaurant are at the link above.  You can actually see The Leaning Tower from their patio.
